Advanced Middle School

Students create drawings of cairns (stacked rocks) and apply a variety of watercolor techniques to add color, texture, and depth. Students experiment with washes, gradients, and other techniques to enhance form and surface detail.
This project helps students demonstrate their understanding of watercolor methods while strengthening their ability to show value, texture, and dimensionality in a simple, nature-based subject.
